Effingham College & Career Academy showed off a wide array of skills as they competed at the 2024 SkillsUSA Georgia State Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta. Among a range of competitions, three ECCA students competed, with two winning medals.  During the contest students work against the clock and each other, proving their expertise in occupations such as electronics, computer-aided drafting, precision machining, automotive and culinary arts. Contests are run with the help of industry, trade associations and labor organizations, and test competencies are set by industry.

Landon Woods competed in Motorcycle Service Technology, which he received a silver medal. Tyler Holm competed in Power Equipment Technology, which he received a bronze medal.

Marshall Waters also competed in Automotive Brakes, which was a grueling hands-on competition.

The ECCA’s SkillsUSA team is under the leadership of advisor Matthew Turner.
